Igniting our Māori cultural competency

The intensive 5-day course touched our first cohort of participants in different ways. Some were irresistibly drawn to reconnect with their Māori culture. Others developed a better understanding of what it means to be a New Zealander. But all developed a renewed awareness of the impact of history, culture and processes in delivering better outcomes for mana whenua.

Since then, we’ve had 33 Te Kaa graduates, and this month, another group of cohort is taking part in this empowering experience. We feel honoured and privileged to work for an organisation that invests on its employees’ ongoing learning, encourages reflection and supports us to cultivate our relationships and partnerships with tangata whenua.
