Designing transport infrastructure with a disability lens

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is currently developing industry guidance for people who plan and design public transport in New Zealand.

They are holding an information session on what the guidance is likely to look like. This session is particularly targeted at advocates and interested groups in the disability sector. The session is also open to other sectors who may have an interest.

A sign language interpreter will be present or you can also attend remotely via Zoom.

Date: Tuesday 18 May 2021

Time: Arrive any time from 9.45am for a 10am start

Venue: James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, 147 The Terrace, Wellington

Room: Chancellor 4 room on Level 16 - this room is wheelchair accessible and there is an accessible toilet on the same floor

Outline of the session

09.45am – Start arriving, refreshments will be available

10.00am – Introductions, why and how we’re doing this work, what it will look like

10.20am – Questions and discussion

10.30am – Summary of the draft guidance (with a short break at 11am)

11.15am – Questions and discussion

11.45am – Join us for a light lunch

Please RSVP to PTDG@nzta.govt.nz by Thursday 14 May 2021 with the number of people who will be attending from your organisation and any access or dietary requirements.

If you’d like to attend online please email us and we’ll send you the details to join the session.

If you can’t attend either in person or remotely and would like to hear more about the project and provide feedback, we’ll be recording the session and can send you a link to this afterwards.
